AllegroSurf Version 5.1.0.1
AllegroSurf 5.1.0.1 was released August 18, 2003.
Bug Fixes:- Corrected a problem where certain servers are reporting files as text, when they're binary, causing AllegroSurf to attempt filtering on binary files.
- Corrected a bug with checking the IP addresses on a machine using SNMP.

AllegroSurf 5.1.0.0 was released August 7, 2003.
Changes:- Updated SSL libraries to 0.9.6j
- Changed AllegroSurf Voyager to show bytes in and out when doing HTTPS or the CONNECT command over the WWW proxy
- Added "start" parameters to the AllegroSurf and Network Monitor Engines when running as services under NT based OSs.
- Changed installer to start the AllegroSurf and Network Monitor Engines as a service instead of simply starting the engines.
- Added to ability to enable/disable AllegroSurf being run as a service from the AllegroSurf Voyager.
- Improved "Add" button functionality in the report site exclusion and advertisement URL dialogs.
- Added the ability to log information for users without defining users in AllegroSurf. This is done by logging events based on IP addresses, which was added to the User and Group options, allowing reports to be created even when users and/or groups are not defined.
- Corrected a bug where duplicate Proxy Servers could appear in the list.
- Corrected a problem where connections would exist even after a timeout period, and even when manually deleted.
- Corrected a SOCKS proxy problem where AllegroSurf was relying on the client to close the client socket when a SOCKS error occurred.
- Corrected a problem where the DHCP server could GPF AllegroSurf when it can't identify an internal network.
- Corrected a problem in AllegroSurf Voyager where when customizing and resetting the toolbar, the 16 color toolbar was used instead of the 256 color toolbar.
- Corrected a bug where AllegroSurf was confusing "<area>" tags with "<a>" tags.
- Corrected "Import from Favorites" for newer versions of Windows and for IE. The default now correctly locates "Favorites" for the current user.
- Improved the FTP proxy server when connecting from a slow connection to a server on a very fast connection, such as connecting from the outside into a LAN. The FTP proxy server now waits for a complete welcome message from the server before sending commands to the server.
- Corrected an ad filtering bug where embedded HTML inside scripts could cause scripting errors and could cause bogus characters.

AllegroSurf 5.0.0.3 was released January 7, 2003.

AllegroSurf 5.0.0.1 was released December 17, 2002.
New Features:- When importing users, added support for IP Addresses where users can be assumed based on IP addresses.
- Added the ability to import Banned Sites, Approved Sites, Don't Cache Sites, and Don't Prefetch Sites from CSV (comma separated value) text files.
- Corrected a problem where using AllegroSurf Voyager over an Internet connection (as opposed to a LAN), AllegroSurf could "lockup".
- Corrected a problem where "Network Monititor Menu Integration" could not be disabled and re-enabled.
AllegroSurf Version 5.0.0.1
AllegroSurf 5.0.0.1 was released November 19, 2002.
Bug Fixes:- Corrected a bug where AllegroSurf would simply ignore login requests if users were not assumed. No error message was displayed, and the user was not given the opportunity to login. This occurred when the "Force User Login when User is not Assumed" option was selected.
- Corrected TCP Mapping SSL bug where data sent through a SSL connection wouldn't become buffered and throttled. This was for SSL connections only.
- Corrected SOCKS server to wait for Windows FD_CONNECT message before telling the client it's connected to the requested server.
- Corrected a FD_SEND bug where buffer setting could cause a GPF in certain conditions.
AllegroSurf Version 5.0.0.0
AllegroSurf 5.0.0.0 was released November 4, 2002.
New Features:- Added 22 total graphical reports, 11 WWW reports by site and 11 WWW reports by user. These new reports give administrators full control over what users see and do on the Internet. Watch user's activity and time spent on the Internet to maintain efficient use of the Internet.
- Added the ability to start all user reports with the build in Scheduler.
- Changed the implicit WWW proxy to a proxy server that exists under the "Servers" tab.
- Added the ability to create more than one WWW proxy server.
- Changed phone and FAX numbers in programs and files.
- Added User ID logging to log files.
- Added the ability to turn filtering on and off on a server-by-server basis.
- Removed "Filtering Toggle" from system tray pop-up menu.
- Improved SSL support for TCP mapping proxy servers that use SSL.
- Improved thread and memory performance
- Added the ability to prefetch even when other transfers are going on, by setting "Prefetch After" n "Seconds" to zero.
- Improved speed of prefetch engine.
- Added map support to prefetch engine
- Added support to prefetch engine for images that are not on the same server, images on different servers are now prefetched.
- Improved content filtering speed, so that sites that are ignored completely don't go through the filtering engine in any way.
- Changed the FTP through WWW proxy connection to use PASV (Passive) mode to get around firewalls and other problems.
- Removed FREE version and removed the "Stand-Alone" version. AllegroSurf is now a proxy server only. AllegroSurf will still operate for Stand-Alone customers, however only one connection will be allowed.
- Added a small help message to the Telnet proxy server when initially connected.
- Added XP style toolbars, pop-up menus, and icons.
- Added list control column selection for Windows XP style lists.
- Added the ability to sort columns in the "Activity" pane.
- Changed default Auto Arrange value to FALSE for the Activity Pane.
- Added the "Server Connect" event to both user and proxy server log
- Force AllegroSurf Voyager to connect to the local server if started from the System Tray icon.
- Changed the default auditing and logging selections for users and servers to have each option enabled by default.
- Added the ability to import text files into the Ad database.
- Corrected a GPF bug in the telnet server when a server would fail a connection.
- Added more stability, especially in the area of the WWW proxy.
- Corrected BUG with SOCKS proxy server where when binding, the server socket could be closed prior to the socket actually being opened. This was noticeable when using an FTP client through SOCKS and using PORT mode as apposed to PASV mode when transferring small files.
- Corrected problems where threads would not get terminated.
- Corrected possible memory leak problem when using SSL.
- Corrected a bug where on some sites filtering would not display a page.
- Corrected AllegroSurf Voyager Activity list for SOCKS so that while resolving a host, the host name is displayed.
- Corrected a problem with DNS cache where DNS information could be cached for too long.
- Corrected a problem where UDP mapping proxy servers could continually use threads without releasing them if a connection could not be established.
- Corrected Scheduler bug where maintenance tasks were not being deleted when "Delete When Done" was specified.
