AllegroSurf Version 8.1.0.5
AllegroSurf 8.1.0.5 was released October 1, 2008.
Changes:- Updated OpenSSL libraries from 0.9.8g to 0.9.8i.
- Updated FVSDK from 15.0.0.1 to 15.1.0.1
- Corrected a bug where the update notification dialog would appear every 2 hours if an update was available. This notification now only appears every 3 days, as was originally intended.
AllegroSurf Version 8.1.0.4
AllegroSurf 8.1.0.4 was released April 15, 2008.
Changes:- Updated FVSDK from 14.1.0.4 to 15.0.0.1
AllegroSurf Version 8.1.0.3
AllegroSurf 8.1.0.3 was released January 2, 2008.
Changes:- Updated OpenSSL libraries from 0.9.8e to 0.9.8g.
- Updated FVSDK from 14.0.0.3 to 14.1.0.4.
- Changed service installation so that it doesn't setup the service to "Allow service to interact with desktop", avoiding an unnecessary error event in the Windows Vista event viewer.
- Corrected a bug where the FVSDK could crash when listing directories where UNIX symbolic links are found.
AllegroSurf Version 8.1.0.2
AllegroSurf 8.1.0.2 was released October 1, 2007.
Changes:- Updated FVSDK from 14.0.0.1 to 14.1.0.3.
- Corrected a bug where AllegroSurf Voyager's system tray could GPF if it tried to launch a balloon message.
- Corrected a bug in the installer that would not notify user's who upgrade, that their license is invalid for the new version.
AllegroSurf Version 8.1.0.1
AllegroSurf 8.1.0.1 was released January 29, 2007.
Changes:- Updated FVSDK from 14.0.0.0 to 14.0.0.1.
- Corrected a Microsoft DLL error that appears in the Windows Event Viewer. This problem did not affect the operation of AllegroSurf in any way.
AllegroSurf Version 8.1.0.0
AllegroSurf 8.1.0.0 was released January 23, 2007.
Changes:- Windows 98, 98 SE, Me, and NT 4.0 are no longer supported. Microsoft has discontinued support for these operating systems and no longer provides DLLs and libraries to developers that are compatible on these operating systems.
- Included German translations into the product and installer.
- Updated FVSDK from 13.0.0.5 to 14.0.0.0.
- Converted help files to Windows CHM (Compiled HTML Help) files for Windows Vista compatibility. Microsoft eliminated WinHlp32.exe (Windows Help) support in Windows Vista.
- Upgraded development environment from Microsoft Developer Studio 2003 to Microsoft Developer Studio 2005. Microsoft changes and additions here address certain Windows and MFC security issues.
- Moved FtpTree.ocx and associated DLLs from Microsoft's formerly recommended location of the System32 directory to the AllegroSurf installation directory.
- Updated the installer and applications to support Microsoft's Windows Vista operating system.
- Fixed a registration display issue where AllegroSurf was showing the wrong purchase and expiration dates in the registration page of the About dialog.
- Corrected a possible buffer overrun error with the WWW proxy server.
- Splash screen launches when ASVoyager starts up in its system tray mode. This is a Windows Vista requirement.
- Fixed system tray to reappear if ASVoyager's main window was not showing when the user exited ASVoyager.
- Fixed a possible race condition that could lock up ASVoyager communication to the server.
AllegroSurf Version 8.0.0.2
AllegroSurf 8.0.0.2 was released November 1, 2006.
Changes:- Updated the Ad Database to exclude "(threadid%)" from the list of ads that should be filtered out of web pages.
- Updated FVSDK from 13.0.0.3 to 13.0.0.5
- Updated OpenSSL libraries from 0.9.8b to 0.9.8.4.
- Corrected a bug where no notification was sent if there was a newer version of the software available from RhinoSoft.com.
- Corrected a bug where the service would throw an exception if it tried to generate a user's log with an unusuable character in the user's name. For example, in windows you cannot create a file with one or more of these characters: \/:*?"<>|.
AllegroSurf Version 8.0.0.1
AllegroSurf 8.0.0.1 was released July 10, 2006.
Bug Fixes:- Corrected a bug in remote administration registration where the registration ID was never being sent back to AllegroSurf, which would cause a registration error if the user clicked the "Ok" button.
AllegroSurf Version 8.0.0.0
AllegroSurf 8.0.0.0 was released July 7, 2006.
Changes:- Assumed users are granted access through proxies without having the administrator configure their assumed IP into the global scope of IP addresses.
- Added column sorting feature for FTP use through a web browser.
- Added icons for well known file extensions for FTP use through a web browser.
- Updated existing icons to a more modern Windows XP style for the FTP use through a web browser.
- FTP use through a web browser is now powered by RhinoSoft's "FVSDK", instead of FTPTree.
- Immediate refreshing of data for two or more remote administrators looking at the same page in "AllegroSurf Voyager" (specifically targeted for the Administration section, the trial expiration dialogs, and registration information).
- Trial expiration dialogs launch for all remote administration connections.
- Moved the system tray functionality to "AllegroSurf Voyager".
- Added system tray to Windows\Startup procedures.
- "Purchase" menu of the system tray's right-click menu launches "AllegroSurf Voyager's" About box/Registration page and automatically selects the "Purchase" button for the user.
- Added "Start AllegroSurf", "Stop AllegroSurf", and "Restart AllegroSurf" to the system tray's right-click menu.
- Removed "Cancelled Prefetch Requests" and "Cancelled Scheduled Requests" from the system tray's right-click menu.
- Added ability to add "AllegroSurf" to the Windows Firewall during installation on Windows XP SP2 or newer operating systems.
- Moved engine, system tray, and voyager resources to resource only DLLs for easier, more efficient translations.
- Reset "AllegroSurf Voyager's" toolbar buttons to their default settings, due to shared resources between RhinoSoft.com products.
- Updated product graphics to a new look.
- Added Tip of the Day dialog to "AllegroSurf Voyager" (adds ASTod.htm to the installation directory).
- Moved Thanks for Installing dialog to "AllegroSurf Voyager".
- Updated the page layout for the Administration section of "AllegroSurf Voyager".
- Moved "Show System Tray" option from Adminstration section to main menu of "AllegroSurf Voyager".
- Updated the About box dialog to the common RhinoSoft.com product style.
- Added common process of registration which is used across all RhinoSoft.com products (see the new About box in "AllegroSurf Voyager").
- Added a menu selector in the Options dialog.
- Updated all menus to modern Windows XP style of menus.
- Updated OpenSSL libraries from 0.9.7h to 0.9.8b.
- Updated compression utility redistributable (zlib1.dll replaces zLibwapi.dll).
- Updated Microsoft redistributable dlls (updated to MFC71.dll, MSVCP71.dll, MSVCR71.dll).
- Added RhinoSoft.com's redistributable files (RhinoGUI.dll and RhinoRES.dll) to installation.
- Added RhinoSoft.com's FVSDK redistributable files (FtpTree.ocx, FVSDK.dll and FtpTreeRES.dll) to installation.
- Removed AllegroSurfNT.exe.
- Removed Network Monitor feature.
- Corrected a memory leak when registering user and copying the registration ID from the clipboard.
- Corrected a bug where browsers wouldn't handle "Proxy-Connection" HTTP 1.1 header field that would be sent with the web server request (ex. www.vb-paderborn-hoexter.de).
- Corrected a bug where the ad filtering would incorrectly see a URL as belonging to the wrong site (ebayimg.com and yimg.com, for example).
- Corrected a bug in calculating users total time connected to the internet.
- Corrected a bug where browsers would hang if "Accept-Encoding" HTTP 1.1 header field was sent with the web server request.
- Corrected a bug where cached pages were always sending back HTTP/1.0 response headers. This would prevent the client browser from rendering the page correctly.
- Corrected a bug where browsers would receive the cache response regardless if the port number was specified in the URL.
